Rocks I Got

Last month, I stumbled upon a friends FB post and learned about Rocksbox!  Have you heard of this?  It's like Netflix but for jewelry!  I love buying new jewelry but it really adds up if you like to buy quality pieces.  Our budget is tight so I just can't do that on a regular basis!

After learning about Rocksbox, I decided to try it out!  I've had a Rocksbox subscription for a little over a month now and have learned how it works:
  • It's a flat fee of $19 per month no matter how many times you get a new Rocksbox.  I signed up for the month to month option because I wasn't sure how I'd like it.  I managed to squeeze 3 Rocksboxes in a single month!
  • If you know you'll love Rocksbox, I suggest signing up for a specific duration (not month to month).  They offer 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months.  The longer the duration, the lower the monthly cost.
  • You get to create a "wish list" and a "stylist" will pull at least 1 piece from your wish list and then they will add 2 adventurous pieces to your box.  You only get 3 items per Rocksbox.
  • Sometimes my "stylists" have sent 2 items from my pre-determined "wish list" and only 1 adventurous item.
  • Be SURE to send all 3 pieces back!  If you only return 1 or 2 items, Rocksbox will assume that you want to purchase the non-returned items.  
  • If you decide you want to purchase/keep any or all of your 3 items, Rocksbox will give you a discount!  I think it's $10 off any item or you can buy all 3 for a deeper discount.
  • Shipping to and from your house is totally free since it's part of your monthly subscription.  Each box comes in a reusable envelope with a pre-printed return label through USPS.
  • I was iffy about wearing jewelry that other people have previously worn, but each piece that I've received so far looks and feels like it's been well cleaned.  No complaints in that department!

Okay, now for the pictures!!!  As I mentioned, I've been through 3 Rocksboxes so far and have loved them!

Top Left: This is how the box looks when it arrives!  
Bottom Left: Kendra Scott Danielle Earrings in Ivory Pearl - I adored these earrings and almost bought them!  The only thing that held me back is that I already have pearl-ish earrings and these were a tad heavy.  Perfect to rent for a special occasion though!
Top Right: Gorjana Tanner Collar Necklace - I liked this style but was not a fan of this necklace.  It seemed too short for my neck.  Or maybe I have a fat neck? 
Bottom Right: Nashelle Aria Ring in Gold - This was another piece that I was tempted to buy.  This ring was versatile and a perfect compliment to my other jewelry.

Top Left: Kendra Scott Elle Earrings in Magenta - Great earrings in a great size!  The magenta was not as shiny as I expected.
Top Right: Kendra Scott Dee Earrings in Ivory Pearl - Beautiful and elegant!
Bottom Left: Sophie Harper Pave Circle Necklace - This necklace goes with everything!
Bottom Right: Summary card!  This was a helpful card to tell me the brand of each piece and the cost (in case you want to purchase).

Top Left: Perry Street Danielle Necklace - Jordan loved this necklace!  I did too but found it to be a little dainty.
Bottom Left: Amelia Rose Cabo Ring in Gold & Sapphire Quartz - This stone was a little darker than I anticipated but looked great on!
Right: Loren Hope Ocean Drop Earrings - I was in love with these earrings!  They were surprisingly light for their size and this color really pops!  I'm also a sucker for the teardrop shape!  In the end, I decided to return but might purchase someday.  Loren Hope is a designer I'll keep an eye on!

Cheese it Up

Sometimes I feel like Jordan and I live for the weekends.  We are very blessed to have each other, jobs that we both enjoy, an adorable pup, and a pretty house, so we definitely  enjoy the week days.  It's just that the weekends are when the action happens!  I don't know if we rest more during the week or the weekends! July 4th with Family

Happy July 4th...or 14th.  It's taken me a while to get around to sharing pictures from our Independence Day celebration but I've got 30+ pictures of family food and fun to share! There is no other holiday quite like the 4th of July in America!  Everyone takes off work to enjoy delicious food (and cold drinks), BBQ, and the faint smell of explosives in the air --- those bombs bursting in air! This year was even sweeter than previous years because my brother, Andy, and his family flew to Texas for a long visit!  I was so thrilled to see them all! Top Left: I do love a little flare!  I got a pedicure before the holiday and decided to go with a patriotic theme.  The design looks almost like a Wonder Woman theme which is equally awesome. Doodles and Drawings

I've continued to have fun with my Tombow calligraphy markers that I talked about on my Tombow Watercolor post.  Pinterest is rich with unique and interesting art!  I've found that it's extremely relaxing to sit down and doodle with my markers while sipping quality wine and listening to some music.  It makes for a messy kitchen table but I feel very chill and in my own element! The only new piece of art I have to share is this "hustle" poster I made for a friend.  I began by playing with the texture of watercolor paper (verses usually using "media" paper).  The water and markers react completely different depending on the surface and paper.  I ended up with this woodland-ish doodle. Leaves are probably not the most interesting focus, but I had fun playing with the different shades of greens and browns along with the various textures of leaves.  I have so many shades of markers so it was a great opportunity to use them all!  For fun, I even
