Easter Weekend

Happy Easter!!!  We had such a wonderful Easter celebration with family over the weekend!  Jordan and I took off Friday to head up to the lake and made it a three day weekend.  (BTW.. it's so strange how companies don't observe the Easter holiday nearly as much as the Christmas holiday).

We hadn't been to the lake since February so we had LOTS to catch up on.
Top Left: Cindy's beautiful dock!  The water was very choppy but the weather was cool and pleasant!
Top Right and Bottom Left: Bratwursts and onions for dinner!
Bottom Right: Resident ducks at Cindy's house!

Jordan and Chris got right to work helping Dad chop and stack wood.
Bottom Left: Chopping wood is hard work, but Mom and Dad and company went in to buy this automatic wood chopper!  There is still a lot of lifting involved but this machine makes it much easier to get through a truck load of logs!
Bottom Left: This is the log chopper in action!
Top Left: Jordan, Chris, and Sophie using the jitney to transport some wood.
Right Middle: There is SO much firewood stacked up now!  It will dry out this Summer and be perfect for Fall/Winter fires!

I usually take a lot of pictures of food but this trip I took lots of pictures of the pets.
Top Left: I must have taken 50+ pictures of Fluke but this one is my favorite.  I love the string of drool hung in suspension.  In this picture, Fluke is waiting (not so patiently) for Jordan to throw his log/stick.
Top Right: This is little Sophie.  She was surprisingly spry and energetic considering she was attacked (badly) by another dog a few weeks ago.
Bottom Left: Abby still looks ridiculous with her buzz cut face.
Bottom Middle: Cindy and Mom on the boat with dogs, Buddy and Sophie.  Sophie is mid-bark in this picture because some other boat is on "her" lake.
Bottom Right: One more picture of Sophie.  She was crying out of excitement at being on the boat!

Just when you think we have enough wood, Tony decided to let this one fall.  Out came the chainsaws, chains, and tractors!

You can see a collection of videos from the weekend below.  This video includes a slow motion of the dog, Fluke, slow motion of the wood chopper, and tractor work after the tree cutting.

Top Left: This is a double pomegrante bud from Mom and Dad's plant.
Top Right: Pink rose bush
Bottom Left: Blending in very well is a momma duck sitting on her nest of eggs!  They haven't hatched yet but I'm sure there will be some adorable Easter ducklings soon!
Bottom Right: Dad using his tractor.  Why would we ever need a wheelbarrow again?!

These are just about all the pictures I have of food from the weekend.
Top Left and Top Right: This is an Easter cake that I made for the occasion.  I shamelessly copied the design from a Pinterest picture but I'm thrilled with how it turned out!  I'll share more on the cake process in a future post.
Middle Right: Tony carving up the Easter turkey.  We also had ham, green beans, salad, watermelon, deviled eggs, and all sorts of great food!
Bottom Left and Right: The following morning we had a great breakfast of bacon eggs, pancakes, fruit, and so much more!

Happy Easter to all!  HE is Risen!
