Work Bench, Brisket, and Lake Chill

Last weekend we had a great time at the lake visiting with Mom and Dad and Mandy and Chris.  The weather was a bit cold (especially on the jitney) but we had a warm cubbie near the fireplace under the pavilion.

We started Saturday with a project to put together Mom and Dad's new island/work bench.  The boys did the heavy lifting while us girls watched.

Isn't the quality of this table awesome?  I'm pretty sure Mom found it at CostCo.  If I had the space, I would definitely purchase this beauty!
Above pictured is Dad, Jordan, and Chris doing the manly building.

The directions looked somewhat complicated but it didn't take them long to put together.  Maybe an hour tops!  At 72 inches in length, you have to have a large space to work in.

Here are a few pictures of the finished product.
This storage table features: a chocolate stained top, attractive angled drawers with flush hardware, extra storage at the base, and lockable casters.

These are more finished pictures.  Mom was thrilled that her plastic bins fit on the bottom rack perfectly!

After a productive morning, four of us went on a jitney ride.
It was manageable for a half hour or so, but after that we were all pretty cold.  Even Abby was shivering (either from excitement or cold, not sure).
Bottom Right: I snapped this picture of AJ enjoying a Jeep ride along side us.  Yes, he's in shorts even though the rest of us were bundled up!

And Saturday night we finished the day with some AMAZING brisket!

Top Left: Mom's awesome guacamole!
Top Right: The brisket!
Bottom: All the sides - macaroni salad, potato salad, coleslaw, cantaloupe, and a relish tray!  Not pictured are the warm pies with ice cream!  YUM!

That's all I've got for today!  Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's weekend (even though it falls on a Tuesday)!
