S&E Couples Shower!

Image
It's officially Fall!  Our schedule always sneaks up on me this time of year when Fall activities begin to fill up our calendar.  I want to share one exciting event from two weekends ago.  We went to the lake to take part in a couples shower for Scott and Elizabeth!  Everything turned out great and we had a fantastic visit with S&E, Mom and Dad, E's parents, and other friends and family.  Leading up to the shower I was freakin' excited to give them our gift (we'll get to that in a moment)! Bachelorette Bash

Next month, my friend Steffany gets married!  She has been such a great friend at work and I'm so happy for this new chapter in her life to begin!  In pre-celebration of her wedding, I wanted to share a few pictures from her bachelorette dinner!  Only a few pics, the rest are in Gringotts . We all met at Primo's in Rockwall.  This turned out to be a great location because we could overlook the lake and the area has really grown up with lots of shopping and entertaining options.  You can find the Primo's menu HERE . Top Left : This was a delightful sangria margarita.  Top Right : Stefanie and I. Bottom : Some of the girls L to R - Tiffany, Me, Stefanie, and Brooke Top Left : I had hatch enchiladas which tasted awesome! Bottom Left : No bachelorette party is complete without a little sordid novelty, right?! Right : Picture with the bachelorette!  L to R - Me, Steffany, and Tiffany!

Highstreet Antiques Stroll

Image
Last weekend, Jordan and I enjoyed a visit with his mom, Kathy.  She and Jim were in the Dallas area for a short visit so we got to spend Saturday and Sunday morning with her! We had a bit of a rocky start on Saturday morning due to car trouble, but we managed to visit Highstreet Antiques as planned!  If you're an antique shopper, this is the place to be!   Highstreet Antiques is a very large mall and everything was very organized and clean.  We had a great time slowly strolling through each aisle or "street" in the mall.   Top Left : Jordan, Kathy, and Kathy (yes, it's confusing sometimes) Top Right : I found this extra long bread board that I loved and Jordan got a good laugh out of how long this thing was!  Later on, he compared it to a vintage wooden ski.  Hey, I'm sure I'll find a good use for that thing. Bottom Left : Jordan and Kathy Bottom Right : Kathy bought us these cute little ceramic birds!  I just love them so much I put them

Dirt Road Prayer

We've been tidying up our yard lately which has, ironically, been a dirty job.  We've been noticing a few low spots in our yard in the last year or so.  Some places are very sunken, especially along the side walk in front of our house.  To remedy this, Jordan got another truck load of dirt to fill in some of these spots.  And while we were at it, we decided to try to plant a little grass seed to fill in some bare spots.  For a whim of a thought, this project sure turned into a long and hot afternoon!   Top : This is a small section of our front yard where we Jordan did the most work.   Bottom Left : We planted some Bermuda grass seed so Jordan has been watering the area to help it grow!  As I'm writing this, I'm a bit worried that the seed might not come up!  We shall see! Bottom Right : This was one of the lowest spots in our yard and it's right by the curb!  When we park there, it feels like you're falling out of the car!  Hopefully this will

Rodeo Goat

Image
I usually try to get creative with naming each post but I cannot take credit for this title.  We recently went to a place actually called the Rodeo Goat !  And I've got to say, it was delicious! Last weekend we met up with our friends Nathan and Mallory.  It was SO great to see them and has been too long since we had a double date!  I miss our friends all the time since they moved out of state but it's great to know that we can pick up right were we left off. We were both coming from different areas of the DFW metroplex so we decided to meet somewhere mid-way, preferably somewhere new and exciting!   Top Left : On our way, we saw a billboard for Rodeo Goat!  That's when it got real people! Bottom Left : Their menu!  I had the "Oh Whitney" and Jordan had the "Royale with Cheese".  Both were Amazing! Top/Bottom :  Burger pics!  The Rodeo Goat also has all kinds of craft beers and about 20 craft beers made in Texas!  You can find local favori

I Swing, You Swing, but both with Ice Cream!

Jordan and I have continued to enjoy a few recent purchases.  We've loved our new swing that Jordan put together last month and our new Ninja blender!  These are some random pictures I thought I'd share. Top : Jordan and Abby enjoying the shade in the backyard!  Since we got our new fence we've been trying to get outside a bit more to utilize our backyard.  This bench swing has been pretty awesome to have!!  Abby seems to enjoy it because she can sit in the middle of the yard without sitting in the grass.  #spoiled Bottom Left and Middle : The Ninja has been great too!  I think we've got the hang of this smoothie thing.  I discovered that I have 2 mental categories of smoothies: fruit/citrus based and milk based.  For instance, pineapple juice and milk do NOT go together.  But both go great with banana.  I've been buying lots of fruit if I see it on sale so that I can wash and freeze it.  Jordan has been kind enough to make each of us a smoothie on work morni

Guys, I can feel it coming!  We are knocking on the door of the first day of Autumn!  Granted, it's not for a couple weeks, but I swear I can smell it!  It is, after all, Labor Day (aka the beginning of all things Pumpkin spice)!  Jordan and I have been busy lately so, true to my form, I'm behind on posts...eeps!  Oh well, 'tis life. I've got some pictures from our adventures last weekend to share with you all!  We begin with a little purchase from Home Depot!  It's a great season to buy outdoor furniture at great prices if you're in the market and Jordan found an awesome 3 person shaded swing for $40!  At first, I was a little worried about where we would put this thing. It's really bigger than you'd think.  But now that we've had it for a week or so, I think we HAVE to find a permanent spot for it! It's been delightful just sitting out in the backyard with Jordan and Abby in the evenings (after it cools down). Here are a few picture
