AC and Roomba ta-da!

I'm writing this post a bit out of order but I wanted to share these pictures!

Jordan and I had been debating whether or not to get a Roomba vacuum cleaner for a while now.  On the one hand, we really don't need it because Abby doesn't shed and our floors are all tile and wood.  On the other hand, it is a pretty exciting gadget!  We compromised and found a used Roomba 750 model on CraigsList for a fair price.  And I've got to say, it's been pretty entertaining and I like it a lot!
Abby is not a big fan of the Roomba.  The first time we ran the Roomba, Abby pretty much ran out of the room like "Bye Felicia!" This happened over and over again so we started referring to the Roomba as Felicia!  Felicia does a pretty good job on the floors.  She is a bit louder than I anticipated and she's not the smartest vacuum cleaner on the market (sometimes she goes in circles or closes her self in the closet).  Despite that, I've actually really enjoyed it!  I feel like Felicia gets 90% of the junk off our floors which makes the last 10% seem much less daunting.  Jordan did an excellent job on this CraigsList find.

In other news, last month (July) we got a new air conditioner!  Our old AC was 16 years old and every summer we've been very careful with it.  Always keeping an ear out to listen to the compressor and each summer Jordan would do a little maintenance.  The Texas Summers are HOT so we were so glad to get a new system!  Installation happened just in the nick of time with 3 digit temperatures in our area!
Top Left: This is the plenum from the old AC that was up in the attic.
Bottom Left: This is a view of the blades on the compressor all shiny and new!
Right: Our new AC is 14-15 SEER rating Trane model which is supposed to be pretty efficient for the size of our home.  If you're in the market for a new AC, check to see if your electric company offers any discounts for these kinds of improvements.  We've yet to do this little chore but it's possible we can get a credit on our electric bill!

This is the before and after pictures of the outside unit.  It's SO nice to have the new unit!  It's much quieter and looks much better than our old dinky unit.  Hopefully we should see our electric bill drop!

Stay cool everyone!
