Thirsty

I don't have much to share with ya'll this week.  I suppose you could say this isn't the most dramatic blog out there, but we've enjoyed looking back at the pictures over time. All weekend I've been enjoying some fresh flowers that Jordan bought as a surprise for me last week.  He is so incredibly thoughtful; I truly love that guy!  The flowers are alive after a full week so he sure knows how to pick 'em "just because"!    Flowers!  This is one of my favorite vases, but I have to admit, this is the first time I've ever used it.  The angle opening is really interesting, but I never really know how to arrange flowers in it.  I was always afraid the arrangement would look lopsided.   In any case, I decided to finally use it.  This vase is actually made by Waterford and it was given to me by a friend before he passed a way a few years ago.  My friend passed away rather suddenly, but I've always wondered if he could sense his illness w

We had a fun little getaway hanging out at the lake this past weekend.  At the lake, it's always a bit of a wild kingdom (animals and humans), so I seem to have a lot of pictures of animals to share with ya'll today. Saturday, we had a good laugh watching Sophie try to destroy play with a wet towel.  Mom gave her a bath and Sophie was so excited to play the "towel game".  Basically, she treats the towel like a chew toy or some sort of carcass.  Hilarious pics below. It's like she's thinking "must destroy towel"....and then "roll on it!"  That little wet dog went crazy. We switched up meal time at the lake a bit and everyone decided to go to a local Mexican restaurant on Saturday evening.  It was a great treat and we got some nice pictures below. Oy...I usually talk about our weekend in a post on Monday or Tuesday but we are going on Wednesday and I'm just getting my act together.  Have I mentioned yet that work is totally kicking my butt?  Well it is.  At any rate, we had such a nice and relaxing weekend. Saturday night we had the opportunity to play games with our neighbors, Nathan and Mallory.  We started with a couple games of euchre.  We always do boys against girls but this time around, us girls had a rough go of it.  The boys won twice.  Bummer.  So we decided to move on to Pictionary.  I haven't played Pictionary in years and we didn't even own it until last year.  I found the game at a garage sale last year but this was the first time we'd used it.   Abby was getting restless so I pulled her on my lap to help with a hand. Pictionary is SO much fun.  Why have we not played this game more often?  I didn't realize the level of creativity that the 4 of us possess but it really made for som

This past week has been full of little baby girls!  At first, I thought it was a fluke that everyone I know seems to be having a baby, and then I saw this news article .  You see, about 9 months ago, the Dallas area was hit with a pretty harsh ice storm.  We had rolling black outs, lots of treacherous ice on the roads, and our grocery stores were picked over.  I wrote about it in December of 2013 HERE .  So...wink wink...it looks like that is the source of all these births in the month of August! Last week, I went to visit a co-worker in the hospital who had just had a little girl and I was introduced to little Jade.  This little lady is so precious and already beautiful like her momma.  Just 1 day old and she is already loved by so many people! Top Left: Jade and me Right : A closer picture of Jade with the cutest hat ever . Bottom Left: Did you know they make tiny Sperry's ?  Super cute. And that takes us to another dear friend, Wendy!  Wendy is due in a couple/fe

An Element of Fun

Hello everyone!  I hope you're all having a great week so far!  Jordan and I had a fantastic and busy weekend!  I'm not quite sure where to start, but the weekend really flew by.  Saturday morning, Jordan met up with my dad and brother to golf.  It's funny, because Jordan and I golf very rarely, yet, I think this is my 3rd post related to the topic in the past few weeks!  Jordan was SO excited about this golf outing that he was actually giddy with excitement.  A) he loves to golf  B) he was genuinely excited about hanging out with Dad and Scott and C) he was excited to try out the golf shoes we found several months back.   Here are a few pictures from their Saturday morning adventure.  Photo credit for these pictures goes to Jordan and Scott. (Thanks guys!)  Aren't they a group of handsome men? More golf swing pictures!  Jordan's shoes are perhaps meant to be worn with slacks but it was hot everyone. Meanwhile, I spent my Saturday morning at a
