Hi Ya'll!  It's the NIGHT before Thanksgiving!  YAY!  I hope you all are in route or already arrived to visit family and enjoy delicious food!  Jordan and I have so many blessings to be thankful for.  I'm so grateful to have such a loving family, our health, a happy home, little miss Abigail, and the numerous other blessings in our lives! I'm going to try to make this one a quick post because I've got cooking to do folks!  Lots to do before tomorrow (at least I remembered to defrost our turkey - thanks Mom!). Hi everyone!  It's been pretty busy in our household lately so I'm behind on a couple of posts that I'd planned to write for ya'll.  One of the main reasons that I'm so behind is because I've been spending my time going through the job interview process for the first time in 8 years.  Yup, that means a revised resume, interview prep, interviews with several people, and finally the salary negotiation process!  It has been stressful to go through this experience, partly because I'm a "worrier" and partly because there are so many opportunities at my company right now that Jordan and I had to weigh several pros and cons of different positions before making a move. It was great to be recruited into other areas of the company, but there was much to consider: level of stress, autonomy in each position, potential boss, team environment, etc., etc. Even though I don't know what I don't know, I can officially announce that I will be switching job...

WHi Everyone!  Hope you are all staying warm!  It's 44 degrees in the Dallas area at this moment so I had to break down and turn on our heater!  Thank goodness for seat warmers in cars! Jordan and I had a great weekend!  Saturday we got to meet up with our friends, Wendy and Nathan, for some delightful Mexican food from Chuy's.  Wendy and I try to meet up as regularly as we can to visit and work on various crafts.  She's very talented and a fantastic friend!  You can check out her beautiful projects at her online store HERE ! Morning friends!  Ugh.... I can't get back to sleep so I thought I might as well use the time to say hello.  Early early this morning, Abby woke us up screeching and crying in her super high pitched voice.  Jordan and I were jarred awake and sleepily tried to assess the situation.  Where the heck was this noise coming from? You know how I'm always talking about Abby's wild hair?  Well, this morning that wild hair finally caught up with her and I (more her, than I).  This morning Abby was itching her face/ear with her back paw, you know, like a pup would normally do, except this time, she got stuck.  Yup, she got the toenail of her back paw stuck in the fur on her face (do dogs have cheeks?).  The harder she pulled to free herself, the harder it hurt! Hi friends!  I hope you all had an enjoyable Halloween and weekend!  We've had an eventful couple of days so I thought I would tell you all about our 2 recent events: my company's Croktoberfest and our recent trip to Oklahoma! We'll start with the Croktoberfest.  Every year my department hosts a chili cook-off where we invite all kinds of people from around the company to come and compete for prizes!  Those competing bring a homemade chili and give it a creative name so that voting can be anonymous.  Participants are invited to come taste each of the creative chilies with the only requirement to enter being canned goods or cash.  At the end of the day, the chilies with the most votes win prizes and all the donated money and food items are given to the North Texas Food Bank.  It's a beautiful thing people! Did any of you see the solar eclipse this past weekend?  It happened in Texas just around 5/5:30 on Friday afternoon.  I was on my way home and Jordan had already finished work.  Since he beat me home, he ran into a neighbor who was ready to watch the eclipse (unlike us unprepared people).  This neighbors is a school teacher so she was prepared with special glasses and had timed the eclipse just right.  I hope all of you made it in time to see such an event!  It was very difficult to see unless you had some serious eye protection. Top Left: These are the fancy glasses that our neighbor let Jordan use.  They look a lot like 3D glasses but the affect is more like a welder's mask.  You can see that the sun is setting so it was important to get a glimpse while we could. Hi Friends!  Like all my other posts, I'm a bit late in sharing our adventures.  Meh...oh well.  So this entry is about the events of last week and last weekend! The week was pretty productive for Jordan and I.  We'd had a lot of projects very close to "done" but they still required last steps to fully finish them.  It was nice to check a couple of those OFF our list!  One of those projects was our laundry room cabinets!  You saw my post about Jordan and Dad installing these a few weeks ago, but Jordan was able to finish the details last week.  I've captured a couple of pictures for ya'll below: Top Left: These are the finished cabinets, wall to wall!  Since the mirror was there, I had to waive to ya'll.  I've had that mirror since I was a child and love it!  Top Right: There was a little gap that needed to be filled in so Jordan trimmed a board and caulked it between the wall and cabinet.  The first attempt failed ...
