Pumpkin Pics and Project Prep

I have a short mid-week update for you guys!  October has already been full of activity and I'm sure the Fall season will continue in that fashion.  Last Friday night, we had a great dinner out with our friends, Jenn and Jonathan.  We had originally planned to go to a place called, The Grape, but the night before, some storms whipped through our area and The Grape lost electricity!  It was a real bummer because we were looking forward to trying something new, but we still ended up at a yummy restaurant, Babes!  For those of you who haven't heard of Babes, it's a great southern restaurant that cooks food made from scratch.  The menu favorite is their fried chicken, but they have smoked foods, fish and other entrees as well.  The restaurant is family style so you can expect to share entrees and unlimited veggies with your whole party.  Your meal comes with all kinds of veggies (corn, beans, potatoes, etc. etc.), biscuits, and salad.

We had a great time catching up with Jenn Jenn and Jonathan over a couple of drinks.  Did I mention Babes is BYOB?!  Yup, that will save you a ton of money if you want to have a drink with your meal.
Here are a couple shots from our evening out!

The rest of the weekend we did some odd stuff around the house.  I decided to file some paperwork that we have at in our office and I got myself into a bit of a mess.  When I try to organize things, it always gets messy before it gets pretty again....  Here is a picture of our office floor completely covered in paper.

Can you tell where I was sitting?

A few weeks ago, I shared some new Bath and Body Works candles with you guys!  Well, I also have some new Fall body lotions.  They are still on sale if anyone is interested.
I like the Pear & Cashmere Wine, but I'm not a big fan of the Plum Moscato & Almond.  It's too sweet smelling.

Abby spent the majority of her Saturday sleeping.  She sleeps all day during the week while Jordan and I are at work, so on the weekends she is pretty dramatic when she doesn't get her rest.  Plus, she's like me in that she doesn't like to be woken up.

Here is a particularly creepy picture of Abby deeeeeep in sleep.  Her eyes are rolled back into her head.  Very gross, but quite funny.

We took a video of her doing this creepy thing with her eyes.  You can watch it HERE.

Sunday, we decided to take a couple of pictures in the nearby pumpkin patch.  Several churches in our area host pumpkin patches this time of year to raise money, so it's nice to get a couple of unique pumpkins for our house.  It's always a fun experience and very exciting to see all the kiddos giddy over the pumpkins of all shapes and sizes.
While we were at the pumpkin patch, Jordan decided to take a time-lapsed video using his new iPhone.  Ya'll, he has been so excited about getting a new phone because his last one was on it's ninth life and about to die.  Anyway, the time-lapsed video looks really cool!  He framed it up nicely with the trees so it's really picturesque.  I didn't realize where he put the phone, so you can see a snip-it of me in the corner of the time-lapse playing with our camera.  He's posted the video on our YouTube channel HERE for your enjoyment!

During the week, we did some relaxed shopping at Lowes.  We've been making several trips to hardware stores because we are planning to install some cabinetry in our laundry room this weekend.  It's a strange space so we've made several trips to Home Depot and Lowes to review our options. Our laundry room is a great size and has very sturdy shelving, but it looks pretty messy because there are no cabinets to hide all the jazz on the shelf.  Hopefully, this little home improvement project is successful!  I'll be sure to share pictures!

Since we were going to Lowes, it was the perfect opportunity to take Abby.  Lowes is a pet-friendly store and she behaved so well in the cart (even though she could easily jump out if she wanted to).  We keep a piece of carpet in our car for just such an occasion so the cart is more comfy on her paws.  These little trips wear her out and she gets LOTS of attention from the store associates so it's a win-win.  (Don't worry...some day when we have kids, I'm sure Abby wont have quite the same spotlight on this blog even though we love her.)
My favorite is the bottom right picture.  Love the 45 degree question mark face.

Hope you all are having a wonderful week!
