Martin House Rainbow

Jordan and I have been busy beboppin' from one thing to the next so I've realized that it's been a couple of weeks since I last wrote a post!  I have some pictures to share as I recap our recent activities! Let's see, two weekends ago we made a last minute decision to head to the lake.  If you know me at all, you know that I don't "wing it" very well.  I'm a planner and proud of it.  BUT, when it comes to the lake, even the most ardent planner has to yield to the draw of the lake.   Dallas has been getting a lot of rain lately (which I love).  While we were at the lake we got hit with a few storms and I got lucky with some pictures.  The above are just random pictures from the "beach" and sunset at the lake.  Despite all the rain, the lake level has not come up.  It's going to take years to bounce back or some kind of crazy inland hurricane to get the levels back to normal. This is another shot of the lake while the storm

Bluebonnets and Birthday Bowl

Texas Bluebonnets are all over the place!  It's the season for wildflowers and that means there are fields and fields of bluebonnets everywhere you look!  Last weekend, we made time to take a few pictures in a nearby bluebonnet field, thanks to our photographer, Jenn, we captured some beautiful pictures!  Thanks Jenn for helping us out!  Here are a few photos from that day: It is tricky to get both Jordan and I with our eyes open, but Abby added a level of difficulty because she was very excited about other people and kids (tiny humans) in the vicinity!  These are some of my favorites with all three of us cooperating. We pulled Jenn into our pictures too (using a tripod).  Jenn and I must have been on the same wavelength, because we both wore mint!  We couldn't have planned that if we tried !   If you've never seen a field of bluebonnets, it is a breathtaking experience.  As you can see, they go on and on in the background of these pictures.  Mid-April i

Thirty Birdie!

I have SO much to share with y'all today!  I have oodles of pictures from my thirtieth birthday bash last weekend!  Jordan did an amazing job organizing everything and recruited family and friends to help.  Everything turned out perfect and every moment of the weekend was great!  I'm one lucky gal. Friday night, my cousin Mandy and her BF, Brandon, arrived.  I was glad they came a little early because it was nice to have their help to do some last minute prep before everyone else arrived.  We had fun doing some light shopping Saturday morning, and then Mandy very graciously helped me prepare some snack foods for the evening. Saturday afternoon, the corral arrived and we all headed to TopGolf.  I've talked about TopGolf before (in detail) so I'll spare you the how-to-history and get right into pictures.  When we arrived at TopGolf, several folks were already there so it was a great time for hellos and hugs! Cheese it Up

Sometimes I feel like Jordan and I live for the weekends.  We are very blessed to have each other, jobs that we both enjoy, an adorable pup, and a pretty house, so we definitely  enjoy the week days.  It's just that the weekends are when the action happens!  I don't know if we rest more during the week or the weekends! Last weekend was no exception.  We managed to strike the right balance of being productive while still having some leisure time.  Those are my favorite kind of weekends because that's a really tough balance to get! We recently planted some new flowers around our house which was a big chore.  I always get the spring bug this time of year (not the sickness).  I can't help it!  I don't have any sort of green thumb so I suppose this spring tradition will continue for years to come.  In the short time that we've had these pretty flowers, we've spent a lot more time outside.  The nice weather helps too!   Here's the run down of our new pl
