Curb Refurb

This weekend really flew by but I feel like I actually accomplished a few things.  I love weekends where we have little to no schedule and we can strike the right balance of fun, rest, and productivity.  Usually, the latter is the hardest. Saturday, I attempted to invent my own version of ham and potato soup.  Mom gave me the ham bone from last weekend's Easter feast and it made a great soup!  After boiling the ham bone, potatoes, and onions, I cheated a tad and added a pre-packaged soup mix.  It turned out pretty great and the house smelled amazing. Top : Boiled ham bone! Bottom : Soup in progress.  It's a little hot outside to be making soup (in the 80s), but we were lucky enough to get some rain this weekend.  With the rain, the soup wasn't as ill timed as I thought it would be.  As a matter of fact, Sunday surprised us with nickle sized hail.  No damage, but it certainly alarmed us.  (Don't worry, the "Noble Steed" [aka the Saab] was safe and

Whew, I hope you all had a lovely Easter!  Jordan and I had such a busy weekend.  It was great to see family, but boy, going back to work Monday really killed us!  As a result, I'm going to make today's post quick and easy! (#twss) Jordan and I got to see lots of family this Easter.  My Uncle Ray and Aunt Kimmy came down from New York and my Uncle Kenny and Aunt Rebecka also drove in from Arkansas!  We rarely get to see all of them because of the distance, so this was a special treat to see them and their families!  I took tons of pictures, watched (and participated in) an Easter egg hunt, ate  food like it was the coming of the apocalypse, and got in a good jitney ride with Jordan. Top Left: Me and Aunt Kimmy!   Top Right: Me an my cousin, Tyler!  He found the golden egg! Bottom Left: Jordan and my cousin, John.   Bottom Right: Stephanie, Samantha, Me, and Megan!  We have some tall blood in our family so you can tell I'm trying to stand up straight! Ev

Love is in the air!!! All around me I see birthdays, anniversaries, new marriages, twitterpated birds, and spring!!! This is my favorite time of year for several reasons. One of which is the fact that the blue bonnets are in full bloom and gorgeous! Sorry I don't have pictures of the flowers for you but I've got several pics of other happenings for ya'll! The last few weeks I've been admiring our new (used) car. I'm having trouble coming up with a name for her. Or is it a he? Since Saab is a Swedish brand, Jordan and I are trying to channel our inner Sweed. I need help to brainstorm! Randomly I'll walk out and realize I'm not looking for a small silver car anymore.  We've been enjoying the new car immensely!  Abby has ahead a great week. Partly because she has had a ride in the car almost everyday and a walk almost everyday as we'll.  In the above picture, she is ready to go riding shot gun!! She has also had some fun with the r

I last left off talking about babysitting Sophia Maria (Mom and Dad's dog).  Things have been nutty in our household so now it seems like that was eons ago. True to the past trend, I have lots of pictures to share.  I tried to condense them as much as possible so I could give you all the recap of the last few weeks. We'll start off with the trip to the lake to drop off little miss Smaug (Sophie).  We could tell she was SUPER excited about going home because she whimpered the moment we got in the car, and freaked out when we got close to the lake. Sophie was so excited she, thought she could drive the car.  I love these shots of the pups. Those little faces! We finally arrived at the lake and hurriedly checked out the new things happening around there.  It had been several weeks since we visited so there was lots to see.   I'd like to introduce you all to "Schmidty."  You might remember a post from January where we talked about an old trailer.  W
