It was OK

Hi everyone!  Hope you all are having a great Summer!  I haven't checked in for a while because I wanted to give myself a little bit of a break.  I'm finally getting back into a groove and wanted to share a little bit about our recent trip to Oklahoma.  It was several weeks ago but was such fun! We hit up Oklahoma to visit our ex-neighbors and good friends, Mallory and Nathan.  They were kind enough to host Jordan, me, and Abby at their house and we packed the weekend with fun! First we hit up a fantastic Mexican food place, Hidalgo's.  All of us had fajitas and the food was delightful.  This place takes dips seriously too.  Each person got their own personal salsa and queso plus they had several other specialty dips. These are various pictures from our lovely dinner.   Bottom left: We had to brush up on our selfie-skills.  Back in the day on our Nimbus trip we had that skill down pat! We kicked back and visited after dinner and enjoyed the cool weather.

I finally found a few minutes to toss up our pictures from last weekend!  Jordan and I took a day off work to do a little exploring around the Dallas area.  We are always talking about all the things there are to do in this area but, sadly, we've not taken advantage of that perk yet!  Since we took off a week day, we had several destinations to chose from while still avoiding crowds.  We decided to see the new Perot Museum.  Construction finished just last year and we've heard a lot of great things about it! The building itself is very interesting.  It has an escalator that takes you outside the building.  I thought it was a great perch to check out downtown Dallas.   These are our selfies outside the museum and overlooking downtown. The Perot museum has multiple halls, each with a theme.  My most favorite stop was the dinosaur level.  We got to see all kinds of cool fossils. Museums were fun as a kid but it's a different experience as an adult...I'

100th Hodgepodge

Hi everyone!  I hope everyone has had a great week!  Jordan and I had a lovely weekend and the work week has mercifully moved along quickly. As hard as it is to realize, I'm sitting down this evening to write my 100th blog post.  Wow.  I can't believe we've had this little 'ole blog for almost 2 years now.  July 16, 2013 we started this blog with a hodgepodge of intentions.  At the time, I remember wondering how long it would take for me to run out of topics to share in this forum.  Or further, would I even have the time to put the effort into this blog?  I had decided early on to let the words flow freely without limitation to topics.  Our blog doesn't have to be about only "cooking", "photography", "health", "lake", "politics", "shopping", "technology", etc.  I wanted to talk about ALL of it!  As a result, I find that there is never a shortage of things to share and our blog is just that, a ho
