50% Battery

Image
Hi everyone!  Gosh, is July almost over already?  I haven't blogged in several weeks and so I have a lot to share with y'all.  Basically, I have a phone dump of pictures.  I'm running a bit low on energy this week (even though it's only Monday) so I suppose you could say I'm only at about 50% battery.  (In a nutshell, work is totally kicking my butt.) As such, this wont be the highest quality blogging, but hey, you get the pictures and the general idea. Let's see.... I'm starting a few weekends ago when we hung out with our friends, Nathan and Mallory.  We haven't been bowling in eons (I blame my ankle) so we all decided to go to Splitsville.  Splitsville is pretty shwanky bowling.  The layout, vibe, service, and pricing suggests a bit higher scale bowling alley than your average smoky digs.  Still, we all had a good time and enjoyed the new experience.  I'm pretty sure that wont be the last time that Jordan and I bowl at Splitsville! Eeek!  I'm a little behind posting our activities from July 4th!  We had such an amazing and relaxing weekend at the lake with family.  Both Jordan and I have had a stressful couple of weeks at work lately, so we were both itching for the weekend to finally arrive.  At the lake, there is no schedule and no stress!  Everyone works hard, but we play hard too! Our little cove has recently expanded because my Aunt Cindy just purchased a nearby property!  The house had been abandoned for several years now, so it is in need of some tender-lovin' care.  For sure.  Since we had several strong young men around, there was an opportunity to get the landscaping fixed up for Cindy! Well, I guess I'm using the word "landscaping" generously.  This poor house had so many overgrown bushes and trees that it took several giant trailer loads to get it cleaned up.  The end result was awesome though! Bacon Bacon Bacon

Hi Friends!  I have a fun post for you all today!  Our household has been a little obsessed with bacon lately. Bacon, caramel that is.  As crazy as that combination sounds to some people, it is actually a delightful treat!  If you're a fan of caramel and bacon, trust me, you can't go wrong. I guess I should start at the beginning and give ya'll the back story.  You see, we have a lovely friend, Rain, who lives in our area and who is a baker by trade.  One evening we had some friends over for a game night and Rain told us all about her company, Dallas Caramel Company .  She has a killer recipe for caramel and decided to share it with the public to see how well it sold! Fast forward a year or so, and her little company had taken off!  It turns out the caramel is very popular and she had developed 12 fantastic flavors.  In particular, she told Jordan and I about her bacon caramel flavor.  The seed was planted and we had to order some to satisfy our craving!  After browsing
