Nimbus Tour 2014 - Part 2

Image
Hello friends!  So I have part 2 of our trip ready for you!  I last left off in Jacksonville, Florida where we visited the Sawgrass golf course and resort!  (beautiful place by the way). We had a good rest in Jacksonville, but everyone was excited to get to Orlando.  We only had a short drive so luckily we didn't need to leave super early in the morning.  Unlucky for us, the hotel reservations did NOT work out the way we'd planned, upon arrival in Orlando.  We'd originally hoped to stay at Calypso Cay Resorts in a 2 bedroom villa.  We found it for a great price during one of our planning sessions and the pictures looked amazing!  In reality, our room was quite dirty, one of the beds was broken (as in completely not level) and the whole villa was just generally filthy.  No, like really disgusting.  This was supposed to be where we would spend 5 nights after very long days, but none of us felt excited about staying here - at all.  We spoke to the hotel manager and after

Hi Friends!  I have so much to share with ya'll! It has been a crazy couple of weeks, but Jordan and I have had such a great vacation!  We've spent the last 2 weeks on a super long trip with our friends, Mallory and Nathan!  The length of our trip warrants two posts, so this will be part 1 of 2.  What a task it was to sort through the pictures, but I narrowed it down as much as I could for ya'll. I guess I should start by explaining our trip name and how our vacation came to be!  The 4 of us have always talked about going to Florida to see Harry Potter world.  It was always hypothetical conversation in passing; nothing any of us ever really took seriously.  Over time, we would talk about things we wanted to see and various vacation ideas.  The seed was planted!  Later in the year, our friends asked us if we'd be interested in going to the CMAs ( Country Music Awards ). At the time, Jordan and I weren't sure exactly what we wanted to do.  We'd just returned fr

It's been a while since I mentioned anything about the progress of my ankle.  You might remember my previous posts about how I sprained my ankle this last February.  You can see the initial pictures of the sprain HERE and then progress pictures  HERE .  Since it's been close to 4 months after the tumble, I thought I would give you all a little update. About 2 months after the sprain I was still having pretty good pain in my left foot.  The ankle is/was very tender and my foot still looked swollen.  In general, my ankle just feels unstable and untrustworthy.  At this point, I'd been walking on it and bearing weight without pain but any stairs, inclines, or uneven surfaces were a big challenge.  In April, my doctor did an exam and determined that the ankle had not healed as much as it should have at that point.  She prescribed an MRI on the ankle to take a better look and see what was going on in there. I was a little nervous to have an MRI done because those machines ar

Quilt Update and Boot Straps

Is it just me or did this weekend go by in the blink of an eye?  And the week!  Lately, I've felt like Jordan and I have a lot of pokers in the fire.  A part of me wonders if we have too much going on but then I also love that we keep ourselves busy.  They say that people who are "busy" truly accomplish more, right?  At least I hope that's true. For today I'm going to give you guys a little update on our t-shirt quilt.  I know this seems like a project that has taken a long time to come to fruition, but I actually feel like the project is moving along really well; that is in large part due to my friend, Wendy, and her awesome talents.  She is so kind to help me with this project and I've learned so much from her! We recently had a quilting workshop together and got cracking on this project again.  We are not "finished" but it is so close!  I can't wait to show you all the finished quilt!  During our last visit, things really started to come
